A FICA Tax Holiday from 4 July 2009 till 4 July 2010 is a rational stimulus plan, right?First it would hit just the right people — the Middle class.
Second it would make the retail market which is 2/3rds of the U.S. economy come back.
Third it could be done almost immediately — 40 days from now.
Fourth the liquidity added to the economy would increase the velocity of money in circulation.
Fifth the Social Security and Medicare payments are already being paid out of the general funds, so those trust funds are a myth anyway.
Sixth the lost funding could be made up by imposing a large tax on imported oil, which would raise gasoline prices, which would make the small car market more viable, which would give the Detroit auto companies and second chance to stay in business, especially if the deal with Fiat goes through. Also tax cigarettes $10 per pack. Make it really cost prohibitive for all but the wealthiest to smoke — those wealthy people can pay for their own cancer care anyway — so just take the poorer victims out of harm's way by putting cigarettes beyond their reach economically.
Sixth the revitalized economy would generate far more in savings and in taxes than is needed to pay for the FICA tax holiday.
Seventh — the last three stimulus programs were duds — the first 2 trillion went to the billionaires, the next 2 trillion went to the non-citizen "needy persons" via feeding, housing, and dole programs, and the trillion after that went to "shovel-ready" state programs that will start in about 10 years. A truly targeted, truly timely program is now appropriate, needed, and really only fair — everyone has been taken care of except the middle class (who pay most of the taxes).
Eighth — it would incentize work — you get more of what you subsidize and less of what you tax. Remove the tax on work, you'll get more work. More work could help the U.S. recover.

Try the link I have added, we've been booking with them for over 5 years. We always search all other companies too but always end up booking with this company.
If you are flexible and can book last minute you can get really cheap deals.
Although if you book within 2 weeks of flying there will be ticket on departure charges etc… (I usually add £50 to the price shown on-screen to give me an idea. But obviously you will be told the price when booking).

Santa Ponsa or Alcudia are great family resorts but I wouldn't say they were near towns but the both have weekly markets, I liked the Pionera Hotel Santa Ponsa, great kids clubs, The Hisperia was good but not good kids clubs although it is looking onto beach next door to MacDonald's, Most people go to the Belvue Complex in Alcudia but its a bit of a walk to beach and lots of mosquito's because of the lake.
ooh, Thomson is good, they have an auction facility where they auction off cancelled holidays. or um…. thomas cook.com or first choice depends really on what you want, most of the big travel companies will have websites you can book online and travel. don't go to one of those big "we check everywhere" sites though, they do charge commission sometimes.
